(1) An accredited investor is defined as a person or entity that meets certain criteria based on wealth and income thresholds, as well as other measures of financial sophistication. For individuals, they may qualify if they have a net worth of over $1 million, excluding their primary residence OR if they have an average yearly income of over $200,000 (or $300,000 with a spouse or domestic partner), in each of the past two years, as well as a reasonable expectation of the same income level in the current year. Licensed financial professionals and individuals with other measures of financial sophistication may also qualify.
